Gondolas, Underwater Garages & Ferries OH MY!
I think we can all agree, Boston’s traffic is getting worse and worse each year. The Boston transportation project is in place, and looks promising for our future with traffic/travel. Take a look at some of the cool new solutions they have in store!
New & trending sub cities need new solutions!
- The Seaport has been the biggest challenge in managing transportation with more companies and residences moving in. Amazon, Facebook and GE are all taking the leap moving into the Boston area for there corporate offices. This will create over 75,000 people that will be looking for homes and need more access to public transportation. Plans in place include Aerial gondola from the seaport to south station, Connecting the Blue & Red lines directly, and extending our commuter rails. This should make the commuting process easier, and pretty exciting!
Taxies & water transportation
- Water taxis are currently running from Seaport to the new and popluar location of East Boston
Waterfront, but projects are going to increase inner harbor commuter ferry services to assist
with travel time.
Commuting by car
- What about commuters with cars? Not to worry, we know the parking shortage is also a
nightmare with the raise in residences in the city. Underwater garages are being mapped out to
increase parking opportunities in seaport and surrounding areas.
Exciting!
